The University church is made up of people simply trying to follow Jesus and His Spirit-revealed teachings. We are an independent, non-denominational church that follows the New Testament as our only standard of faith and practice.
For more than fifty years this congregation has met on the north side of Tampa. What we want for one another is the joy of true discipleship: a life of happy devotion to our Lord. We'd be glad for you to see what that looks like up close.
When we gather
Four times a week, and you're welcome at any of them.
Bible Classes for All Ages
Classes by age, and adult classes that take a book or a subject across a quarter. Some meet bilingually in English and Spanish.
What to expectWorship
Singing, prayer, the Lord's Supper, the contribution, and preaching from the text. About an hour.
Plan a visitEvening, and it varies
A blended schedule through the month: neighborhood devotionals, a song service, college and young men's services, visiting speakers and gospel meetings.

Next door to USF
We're minutes from the University of South Florida. There's a college class in the rotation, and in March the congregation hosted a College Men's Gospel Meeting where young men did the preaching.
Hear that meetingA quarter at a time
Adult classes run about a quarter each. Some walk through a book: Genesis, Ephesians, Acts, Judges. Others take up a subject, like marriage, prayer, or first principles.
What's on nowWe hear back from the field
Part of this congregation's work is supporting men who preach the gospel. They report back to the church, and those reports are in the archive, including one from Ethiopia and the Seychelles.
