About this sermon

A Wednesday evening class that opens at the end of Luke 13, where Jesus refuses to run from Herod and then grieves over a Jerusalem that would not be gathered. From there it works through Luke 14: a Sabbath healing that leaves the Pharisees with nothing to say, the parables of the wedding feast and the great banquet, and the tower-builder and the warring king who must first sit down and count the cost. The hour ends by setting up Luke 15, arguing the lost sheep and lost coin prepare a Jewish audience to hear the prodigal.
