About this sermon
A Wednesday evening class that opens with maps and drawings of Herod's temple complex (thirty-six to forty acres, the Antonia Fortress, the Royal Stoa) before working through Luke 19:28 to 20:26. Jesus rides in about 120 hours from his death, weeps over a city whose name means peace, clears the temple a second time, and then turns a delegation's challenge back on them by asking whether John's baptism came from heaven or from men. The hour ends with the wicked tenants, the rejected cornerstone, and the coin bearing Caesar's image.
