About this sermon
The closing session of a Sunday-morning walk through Zechariah, given over almost entirely to the book's forward-looking chapters. The teacher reads the king who comes on a donkey, the thirty pieces of silver thrown to the potter, the one who is pierced and the shepherd who is struck, drawing each to its New Testament fulfilment with the class answering along the way. The second half asks what Christians gain by keeping Christ's return in view (hope, holiness, urgency) and closes by describing and rejecting both realized eschatology and a literal thousand-year earthly reign.
