The Wednesday class finishes Micah, picking up at chapter 4 where the tone turns: nations streaming up to the mountain of the Lord, swords beaten into plowshares, and a kingdom assembled from the lame and the outcast - including, the teacher points out, the ones God had disciplined himself. Chapter 5 brings the ruler from little Bethlehem who shepherds rather than merely rules, chapter 6 brings God's own complaint, "my people, what have I done to you?", and the class closes working out what doing justice and loving mercy look like at home and at work.
