About this sermon
Dave Schmidt opens by greeting the room as sinners and asking why the word lands so awkwardly. Working through 1 Corinthians 6, Ephesians 2 and Colossians 1, he argues that people who have been washed, justified and sanctified are properly called saints, and that Paul's habit of addressing troubled congregations that way is deliberate: he tells them who they are so he can call them out of their sin. It ends on what a church should tell someone who has just come up out of the water.
