Idol Minds - Control

Josh Higgins puts control in the dock as an idol, naming the trouble the "dominion delusion": the sense that each of us rules a small realm. Yertle the Turtle carries the argument, from the stacked-up throne to the burp at the bottom that topples it, alongside Babel, Ecclesiastes 9 on time and chance, and a guided tour of his own realm: the office, the commute, the checkout line and the living-room chair. Surrender, he argues, frees a Christian to love deeper, live unafraid and praise louder.
