Restoration

Josh Creel, back visiting the congregation he left eight months earlier, argues that Galatians was written for restoration rather than as a shorter Romans. A church painting ruined by a well-meant repair and Rome's still-unfinished Colosseum set up how hard the work is; Galatians 3 and 4 supply the reason (sonship, inheritance, the value God placed on us) and Galatians 5 and 6 the method. Full restoration, he says, is not quitting sin but bearing the fruit of the Spirit, illustrated by a sister remembered for cards sent on random Tuesdays.
