The Helmet of Salvation - Don Truex

Don Truex takes up Ephesians 6:17 for the congregation's summer series and asks why Paul tells people who are already saved to put on salvation. The answer runs through salvation as past event, present process and future hope, and then to the question driving the hour: why so many Christians die wondering whether they did enough: his own father among them, after sixty years of preaching. Assurance, he argues, rests not on perfect works, perfect knowledge or perfect living, but on the care of the Son, the Spirit and the Father.
