About this sermon
Steve Patton takes up Ephesians 4 on the Sunday before a new preacher and his wife arrive, and asks why Paul begins the worthy walk with humility and unity rather than with morality. He first retraces the power described in chapters 1 through 3, the same power that raised Christ and made Jew and Gentile alive together, then works through the seven ones, the teaching roles given to bring the body to maturity, and the speech and temper that either build a congregation up or pull it apart. It ends with a plea for patience through the transition, and an invitation.
